Ziele/Aims The students will gain experience in endothelial and reproductive biology, zebrafish-based experimental techniques, molecular and cellular analysis, and the documentation of vascular and gonadal structures using microscopy.
Inhalte/Content The biological context of the work is the role of blood and lymphatic endothelial cells in reproductive organ development and function, using zebrafish as an in vivo vertebrate model. The module includes experiments analyzing vascular–gonadal interactions and endothelial cell contributions to germ cell maturation and tissue homeostasis. Experimental approaches may include molecular manipulation of gene expression, fluorescence imaging of vascular and germ cell structures, and microscopy-based analysis of gonadal development and endothelial organization.
Methoden/Methods The evaluation of gonadal and vascular phenotypes involves various techniques including confocal microscopy for high-resolution imaging of blood and lymphatic vessels, immunostaining of germ cells, live imaging in zebrafish, CRISPR/Cas9-based gene manipulation, targeted cell ablation approaches, and transcriptomic analyses to investigate endothelial–gonadal interactions during reproductive development.
